Job Summary : Oversee daily operations of the machine shop, including personnel, execution of production plan, process control, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance. Drives Lean practices, cost management, and process improvements. Supports area strategic planning, manpower allocation, and team development to ensure operational excellence.

- Driving employee engagement, development, and cross-training in machining and Lean / 6S principles.
- Oversee hiring, evaluations, coaching, and conflict resolution to foster growth and accountability.
- Manages daily production planning, operator assignments, and visual scheduling tools.
- Controls operating costs and ensures equipment and supplies meet production needs.
- Partners with Planning, Engineering, and Reliability teams on capacity planning, TPM, and machining strategies.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives including 6S, standard work, proves improvement, cost improvements, SPC, and TPM.
- Supports capital planning, justification, and implementation of new machining technologies in line with strategic GPI initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and company standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities : Management of machining direct labor employees, including all shifts (currently three shifts over six days / week). This includes directing and coaching machine shop leaders.
Job Qualifications : Required
At least five years of experience working as a ‘hands-on’ machinist.At least five years of machine shop supervision.Mechanical aptitude and advance understanding of manufacturing management.Ability to review part geometry and prescribe appropriate machining processes requiredExperience with basic operating performance measurements.Prior experience with Lean / 6S in a manufacturing environment.Ability to communicate with leaders and teammates in a professional mannerFocused effort to produce a quality product every time.Microsoft office including Word and advance Excel.Prior ERP experience.18 years of age.Must have a High School Diploma and / or GED.Preferred
Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in business, management, or technicalTechnical or higher training at an accredited school.Job Requirements : Physical :
Physical : Ability to lift 25lbs.Walking and Standing on concrete factory floor for 10+ hours per day.Must be able to wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses and other PPE equipment as required for work function.Ability to safety reach, stretch, bend and lift parts and product from a standing position.Working Conditions : Temperature-controlled factory environment.
