We are currently seeking a Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact within a growing, innovative legal firm. The successful candidate will work closely with our litigation team to provide comprehensive paralegal support, ensuring the smooth running of our legal operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the field, particularly with trial experience.
Responsibilities :
1. Assist in the preparation and management of cases from inception through to resolution.
2. Conduct thorough legal research, fact-checking, and evidence gathering to support case development.
3. Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
4. Maintain accurate case files, ensuring all relevant information and documentation is readily available for the legal team.
5. Coordinate and manage timelines for various legal processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
6. Liaise effectively with clients, witnesses, legal counsel, and court officials.
7. Prepare trial binders and exhibits, and assist with trial setup and logistics. Assist attorneys at trial.
8. Monitor and update the team on changes in litigation laws and regulations.
Qualifications :
1. A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Commercial Litigation Paralegal.
2. Proven trial experience is essential.
3. A bachelor's degree or Paralegal certification is preferred but not required.
4. Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
5. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels.
7. Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
9. A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate the needs of the legal team and clients.
10. High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
11. This is an in-office position with standard full-time schedule.
