Description
The Auto Parts Delivery Driver safely drives company owned van, SUV or lightweight truck to deliver replacements parts, equipment, tools and accessories for motor vehicles to customers. Most importantly and without exception, the Delivery Driver operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all position has been designated as a safety-sensitive position.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, an unrestricted driver's license, and a clean driving record. Candidates must be able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles and must have basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance (checking and topping off fluid levels, maintaining tire pressure, performing vehicle safety checks, etc.). Strong communication and customer service skills required.
Responsibilities :
- Safely deliver auto parts in perfect condition to the customer, wholesale accounts,and suppliers in a company owned vehicle and following all company procedures and standards
- Inspect delivery vehicle daily for proper operation of all safety items (lights, wipers, etc.)
- Assist with pulling customer order(s) when requested
- Verify that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up
- Check payments received with the invoices for each delivery
- Keep accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups
- Request recipient's signature on each delivery entry
- Provide prompt and courteous service in a professional manner that will leave apositive impression and a totally satisfied customer
- Load truck with auto parts to be delivered and unload merchandise
- Review all merchandise for quality and accuracy prior to accepting delivery
- Ensure delivery schedule is set
- Accurately record all deliveries and pickups made
- May assist with customer service activities within retail parts location
- Obeys posted speed limits at all times and all other rules of the road
- Performs other duties as assigned
