About The Position

Job Title : Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : ER Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 00) Experience : Minimum 3 Years License : Current RN License Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS Required Must-Have : - 3-5 years of experience in a large academic emergency department - Experience in a Level II trauma center - High-volume emergency room experience (over 90,000 visits annually) Description : The Emergency Department is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PM shift. The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience. First-timers with 3-5 years of clinical experience in ER are accepted. Weekend shifts are required based on department needs. On-call requirements are not applicable. The documentation system used is EPIC. Candidates must hold current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIH, and PALS. The role includes managing arterial lines, administering blood products, and caring for central lines. Experience with continuous IV sedation and CPAP / BiPAP is required. Candidates should be familiar with triage, phlebotomy, and procedural sedation administration. Management of dysrhythmias and interpretation of arterial blood gases is expected. Candidates must be able to provide care for various patient age groups, including neonates to geriatrics. The emergency department has a daily census of approximately 310 visits, with a staffing ratio of 4 patients per nurse. Candidates will float to different areas based on departmental census. Candidates must have at least 2.5 years of experience in a high-volume emergency department. Time off requests must be submitted in advance and require pre-approval from management. Only approved exemptions for vaccinations will be accepted.
