Job Description : This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of the financial information for assigned facilities by providing direct and indirect oversight of the Financial Accounting department, including but not limited to General Ledger, Payroll and Accounts Payable. This position will ensure all policies and procedures are followed. This position will provide oversight and support for month-end close activities, budget development, state regulatory requests, and internal / external audits.
Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
Experience :
At least + years of experience in progressively advanced financial accounting roles, hospital or healthcare fiscal accounting setting preferred but not required. At least 5+ years of financial accounting leadership, including supervising Accountants, Accounts Payable and Payroll, hospital or healthcare fiscal accounting setting preferred but not required.
Technical Skills :
Financial ERP systems. Microsoft Office. Advanced Excel functions.
License / Certifications :
None
Other :
Knowledge of GAAP, SOX, economic principles and accounting department structures. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, strategic thinking, and strong communication, judgment and problem solving.
Note :
May be subject to long hours if needed. Able to manage stress in a goal-oriented environment. Ability to learn and adapt to multiple ERP systems.
Essential Duties :
Coordinate and supervise completion of financial accounting and reporting processes for assigned facilities. Lead, coach, develop and promote talent. Ensure staff provide the highest level of accuracy and service excellence to all customers, both internal and external. Drive projects and engage in process improvement. Effectively interact with all levels and stakeholders of the organization including senior leadership, as well as with external and internal auditors. Coordinate and supervise the retrieval and development of all supporting documents and analyses related to internal and external audits. Complete / coordinate ad hoc projects and prepare related spreadsheets, analyses, and other materials as needed. Complete / coordinate any external reporting due to regulatory agencies. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned / required.
