Welcome to Love's : The Regional / Area IT / Technology Technician II is responsible for managing technology needs across approximately 50-70 Love's locations. This role contributes to improving store / site device uptime, through intra-team problem solving, review of applicable knowledge-based documents, and close collaboration with other technology support teams to resolve numerous technology issues. Daily travel and at times overnight stays are required to ensure that all responsibilities are met.
Job Duties :
Develop strategic store support schedule; utilizing store health and critical device dashboards; current open incident report; current install and troubleshooting projects; store and above store management requests; emergency situations; and revenue reports. While being flexible to fluid operational needs.Monitoring requests and collaborating with ITST and Fuel Specialists to assist with needed support to avoid third party vendor cost.Providing in-person and remote customer service, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.Overseeing outside vendor support to ensure that all responsibilities of work scope are met.Build and maintain solid working relationships with store operations leadership to enhance technology / operations collaboration.Provide onsite support and assistance to other technology teams during new store / site and remodel openings.Open and constant communication with store management to ensure issues are resolved and not recurring.Utilize available AI opportunities to assist in the development of scheduling and follow up action.Experience and Qualifications :
1-2+ years of hands-on end-user IT support in a business or enterprise environmentProven ability to troubleshoot desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and common peripheralsWorking knowledge of Windows operating systemsUnderstanding of basic networking concepts (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, patching)Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting standard office software (e.g., Microsoft 365, browsers, collaboration tools)Ability to work within an IT ticketing / ITSM system to manage and document support requestsStrong customer service and communication skills for supporting non-technical users in personExperience with workstation setup, imaging, and device provisioningAbility to configure and support monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, and basic AV equipmentSolid troubleshooting methodology with the ability to document actions and escalate appropriatelyExperience with cabling & physical infrastructure familiarity preferred.Constructing, terminating and testing network cables.Identifying cable types.Working in IDF / MDF environments.Experience with remote support tools preferred.Experience using remote assistance software preferred. (e.g., TeamViewer, Bomgar, RDP).IT certifications preferred but not required : CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or similar.Hardware diagnosis and repair for desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and peripheralsWindows OS administration, including user profiles, updates, and troubleshootingNetwork fundamentals and connectivity troubleshooting (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, VLAN basics, DHCP, DNS, switching)Cable management, patching, and identifying network cabling typesSoftware installation, configuration, and support for Microsoft 365 and collaboration appsUse of ITSM / ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Zendesk, Remedy) and remote support tools (RDP, TeamViewer, Bomgar)AV and conference room equipment setup and troubleshooting, plus peripheral configuration (docking stations, keyboards, mice, webcams, headsets)Documentation skills, including ticket updates, asset tracking, and incident notesWork Environment and Physical Demands :
This position will require regional travel to Love's locations in neighboring states (a company vehicle is provided)Frequent interaction with store team members and vendorsWork performed onsite in retail locations, truck care shops, IT closets (IDFs / MDFs), and sometimes warehouse or production areas.May involve exposure to moderate noise levels (e.g., server rooms, equipment)Requires adherence to safety protocols when working near electrical equipment or cable infrastructureWork may include urgent or time-sensitive troubleshooting during peak business hoursAbility to lift, move, or carry equipment (typically 25-50 lbs), such as desktops, monitors, printers, and AV gearFrequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to access equipment under desks, behind racks, or in wiring closetsStanding or walking for extended periods while supporting users or performing equipment installationsManual dexterity for tasks such as connecting cables, handling small components, or using hand toolsAbility to climb ladders or step stools to access ceiling cabling or mounted equipmentVisual acuity to read small labels, wiring diagrams, and display screensComfort working in tight or confined spaces such as server racks or cable pathwaysThis is a remote / work from home position when not traveling. Traveling to Love's locations is required.
