Overview

The Youth in Action for Health Equity (YIA) is a Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) program that integrates public health equity adolescent health advocacy school success and career readiness programming with high school students in Vallejo CA. Under the leadership of the Principal Investigator and housed within the TUC Public Health Program the Program Manager will oversee all aspects of the project from program development implementation assessment and coordination with school and community partners.

Responsibilities

Program Management and Coordination

In collaboration with YIA Program Director and Assistant Director

  • Develop agendas for team mtgs and co-lead team mtgs
  • Maintain program documents in organized electronic files
  • Program curriculum and implementation development
  • Coordination with Touro and Community Partners (e.g. TUC HCOP Kaiser Solano County Office of Education) and High School Faculty and Administration Partners
  • Direct program delivery and staff mentoring

Staff Training & Supervision

  • Recruitment of staff staff training mentoring and supervision
  • Research & Evaluation

  • Use of YPAR approach for evaluation (including students and teachers as key partners)
  • Assist with development of research plan including adaptation of research instruments and processes data analysis reporting sharing data with students and other key stakeholders
  • Analyzing and reporting for funders academic publications or conferences
  • Financial and Administrative Support

  • Budget monitoring
  • Procurement
  • Vendor Relations
  • Grant Development & Administration

  • Assist with the development submission and monitoring of grants
  • Qualifications

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (if applicable) : should reflect who the employee is supervising and what the expectations are.

    The program manager will assist the Program Director and Assistant Director with supervision of YIA team members including staff and graduate students.

    QUALIFICATION(S) : is the Education Training and / or related experience needed by the person to perform the job.

  • Masters Degree preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • Min. 1-2 years of experience working with low-income ethnically diverse youth in school or community programs required.
  • Work in schools or community programs that highlight youth empowerment models (e.g YPAR positive youth development) recommended.
  • Research experience recommended.
  • CORE COMPETENCIES : identify the behavior an employee is expected to demonstrate.

  • Project Management Experience including proficiency using tools (e.g. MS Office Suite Google Suite)
  • Experience working with high school students or youth programs.
  • Strong communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic multicultural environment.
  • Strong managerial and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize work.
  • Maximum Salary

    USD $80000.00 / Yr.

    Minimum Salary

    USD $65000.00 / Yr.
