Product Manager, Bariatrics
The Product Manager, Bariatrics will develop and implement market development plans intended to ensure achievement of business unit sales objectives for the Standard Bariatrics platform. This position will routinely plan, create needed assets, and execute market development activities with surgeons, nurses, technicians, administrators, and other key stakeholders throughout North America to demonstrate, train, in-service, and promote Teleflex Surgical Bariatrics products and services. They will also be responsible to execute the strategies developed for US Bariatric societies nationally and regionally. The Product Manager is expected to be recognized as a clinical and product subject matter expert both internally and externally to the organization. Other marketing duties may be assigned, as required.
Execute effective market development plans for the Standard Bariatrics portfolio. Coordinate with sales, marketing, and Clinical Medical Affairs (CMA) teams to ensure goal achievement and high effectiveness of programs with measured ROI.
Build and maintain relationships with potential and existing key customers by implementing, driving, and advancing vendor, technology and / or category strategies, programs, solutions and trainings with customers and sales representatives.
Proactively identify opportunities and partner with account-assigned sales representatives to lead educational sessions with the customer and support closing deals.
Procedural and Product Training Develop and deliver procedural and product training for the Standard Bariatrics portfolio for sales training classes and meetings.
Serve as a liaison between Sales and Marketing representing the "voice of customer" by driving optimal utilization of market information, to include competitive information, and analysis to guide insights and decision-making on future strategies.
Collaborate with Marketing, Sales Training and CMA to develop and deliver marketing materials, sales tools and sales training for Standard Bariatrics portfolio.
In collaboration with Sales, Marketing and CMA, develop, manage and promote professional educational opportunities (such as resident / fellows training programs, CME credit courses, etc.) designed to expand our brand awareness with an effective ROI.
In conjunction with sales management and marketing, work to identify appropriate local, regional and national conferences to facilitate awareness and help drive adoption of the surgical portfolio.
In collaboration with sales and marketing leadership, support KOL development directly in establishing key reference centers and opinion leaders.
Attend / lead exhibits at national or regional conventions / tradeshows, to gain new customers through the detailing of products and execution of promotional programs.
Maintain clinical and competitive knowledge of the surgical OR, in particular the bariatric surgery space.
Maintain expenses, budget, and materials according to policies.
Minimum of Bachelor's degree (BA / BS) required.
5+ years of sales and marketing experience with surgical medical devices in the OR setting. Market Development experience is a plus.
Experience selling products to HCP's (surgeons, nurses, OR technicians, Surgical Techs, etc.) in the surgical operating room.
Fully credentialed to enter the OR.
Strong computer skills, especially MS Excel, Word, and PPT.
Preferred Bariatric surgery clinical and sales experience.
Experience supporting innovative technology in a competitive market with large incumbents.
Working knowledge of laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures in general surgery.
Experience with endostapling technology.
Experience supporting / marketing to HCP practices and patients a plus.
Demonstrated ability to partner with and support KOLs.
Experience working with innovative technology.
Knowledge of laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures in general surgery.
