Logistics Management Specialist (Title 32)
This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0389000 and is part of the NC G4, National Guard (G4 / 1212-017). Responsibilities include planning and coordinating all matters pertaining to supply, organizational maintenance, troop movements, logistic readiness, services, and miscellaneous logistic support of the command and its subordinate elements. The role also involves maintaining close coordination with support activities responsible for logistic support operations, monitoring logistic readiness, preparing logistic estimates, reports, and plans, and recommending actions to enhance the command materiel readiness posture. Additionally, the specialist will review MTOE / TDA's, recommend additions and deletions, make recommendations regarding the distribution of critical end items affecting materiel readiness, and oversee and coordinate actions resulting from acceptance of those recommendations. The specialist will also advise and assist other staff personnel in logistic matters, oversee and coordinate the logistic functions of subordinate elements, initiate and coordinate training in supply subjects, analyze facilities requirements, coordinate with the Division Operations and Training Specialist for procurement of needed supplies, transportation, and billeting, visit units to conduct inspections and provide guidance and assistance in logistical matters, supervise the Division Supply Discipline program, develop guidelines for conducting convoy movements of troops, work in close harmony with DLOGS personnel and DISCOM commander on property matters, monitor equipment status, determine maintenance requirements, coordinate maintenance support by external organizations, evaluate the adequacy of the internal maintenance organization, develop budget estimates for logistic areas, and serve as a member of the Division Program Budgeting Activity Committee.
Requirements include experience, education or training involving judgment and / or analytical ability in the logistics field, experience using computer and automation systems, and at least 36 months experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan, experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and / or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan, experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions, and experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices.
