Job Description

We are currently seeking skilled Fitters who specialize in fitting tubular structures and interpreting blueprints to fabricate, fit, and assemble the structural components of various mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, focused, and proficient in using hand and power tools, while demonstrating excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Fit and join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate techniques according to product specifications and production schedules.
• Lay out and assemble subunits or units of materials for large or specialized projects, which are then welded into position by welders.
• Ensure products are fitted to job specifications and outlined requirements, consistent with producing quality UT passable welds.
• Specialize in fitting transmission power poles, Substation A-Frames, High mast poles, Highway sign poles, and other tubular structures.
• Read and comprehend complex blueprints, drawings, and chalk lines.
• Adjust fittings based on the twist and camber of poles, working on A1 Frames and 12 sided poles.
• Use welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, and Air Arc.
• Work additional hours as needed and ability to work in extreme temperatures.

Work Environment

This position is based in a heavy industrial steel manufacturing facility that is not climate-controlled, so you should be prepared to work in cold or hot conditions depending on the time of year. The environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work every other weekend.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $59280.00 / yr.

Company does not lay off employees. Stable work environment. Guaranteed to get 50 hours per week.
