Freeman+Leonard is seeking a Senior eCommerce Site Merchandiser for a retail company
This is a HYBRID role in Plano, TX
We’re looking for a highly motivated Senior eCommerce Site Merchandiser. This role will help lead and execute merchandising, site optimization, and performance marketing initiatives to grow our direct-to-consumer eCommerce channels. This role also includes direct mentorship of a Junior Site Merchandiser, helping develop their skills and guiding day-to-day execution
The ideal candidate brings a blend of analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and hands-on experience in site management, SEO and paid media. This person thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for improving the customer experience through data-backed decisions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Site & Merchandising Operations
- Oversee end-to-end product setup and launches, ensuring accurate categorization, pricing, imagery, SEO-friendly copy, and promotional tagging.
- Partner with design and development teams to optimize user experience, navigation, and merchandising rules across the DTC websites.
- Conduct regular site audits and testing to identify and resolve bugs or friction points in the customer journey.
- Work with cross-functional teams (product, inventory, marketing) to align content strategy and storytelling with merchandising priorities.
- Mentor and manage a Junior Site Merchandiser, ensuring best practices are followed in backend Shopify operations and product merchandising.
- Performance Marketing & Analytics
- Monitor and analyze key KPIs (traffic, conversion rate, AOV, cart abandonment, etc.) and recommend data-driven improvements.
- Provide weekly and monthly performance reporting to support seasonal planning and long-term strategy.
- Drive and implement SEO improvements to increase organic traffic and visibility.
- Support paid digital campaigns (Google, Meta, etc.) by collaborating with agencies or internal stakeholders to align product priorities and promotions.
Collaboration & Strategy
Act as a bridge between sales, marketing, and creative teams to maximize online promotional and sales opportunities.Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities and white space.Contribute to strategic roadmaps for product and content enhancements on Shopify, including coordination with the development team.Required Skills & Qualifications :
3–5 years of eCommerce experience in a DTC environmentHands-on experience with Shopify is required (product setup, merchandising, app integrations)Experience working with web development teams and basic familiarity with front-end capabilities (no coding required, but strong project coordination is a must)Strong understanding of SEO best practices and how they apply to PDPs, category pages, and contentFamiliarity with paid marketing channels, including Google Ads (Search, Shopping), Meta (Facebook / Instagram), and remarketing strategiesProficient in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Shopify reporting, and Excel (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)Highly detail-oriented and organized, with strong prioritization skillsStrong attention to detail, organization, and project prioritizationSelf-starter and team player with excellent communication skills
