Salesforce Inc. seeks Lead Network Engineer in San Francisco, CA :

Job Duties : Ensure all network issues are resolved in a timely manner, with minimal impact on customers. Perform high-level diagnosing and analysis to resolve the root cause of network outages and implement workarounds and / or permanent solutions. Isolate hardware and software problems on network devices and work with vendors to resolve issues. Perform break / fix services like RMAs, routing changes / traffic engineering, DDoS mitigation, etc. Perform proactive network maintenance, such as code upgrades, hardware refreshes, config updates, peering / transit turnups, and cleanup / decoms. Collaborate closely with engineering teams to identify ways in which we can proactively improve the stability of the network and decrease potential for future outages to occur. Provide third-line customer support and technical expertise for network-related issues. Drive service ownership for the Network Cloud; assist in efforts to streamline problem and change management processes, improve alerting and incident handling, and increase automation.

Minimum Requirements : Bachelor's degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field. A related technical degree required (Computer Science, Engineering (any field)).

Special Skill Requirements : (1) Routing, Switching, and Network Security; (2) Network Automation using Ansible and Python; (3) Terraform infrastructure as code; (4) Network DevOps; (5) Packet Capture and Analysis using Wireshark; and (6) TCP / IP. Any suitable combination of education, training and / or experience is acceptable.

Salary : $201,573.00 - $276,100.00 per annum.
