Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job description

This individual will make repairs on various pieces of heavy equipment. This will include diagnosing, parts ordering, report writing, and proper communication with others. It may require overtime, overnight stays, and occasional weekend work.

Must have Heavy Equipment experience!

Must have experience with Cat- Komatsu - John Deere

Must have CDL Class A

Essential Functions

• Perform field repairs and maintenance with little or no direct supervision
• Diagnose and evaluate problems with equipment
• Plan methods and sequence of performing repairs
• Maintain parts inventory
• Model safe work habits and always abide by all safety policies and procedures
• Organize, clean, and maintain a safe work area
• Make overnight stays on or near job sites when required
• Complete required paperwork efficiently and timely
• Maintain service truck in good working condition and keep it clean
• Exhibit a professional demeanor with customers, managers, and colleagues

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of continuous experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, diesel engines, controls

Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics

Furnish and maintain a set of hand tools and any special tools required

Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; CDL

Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician / Mechanic Physical Requirements :

Pushing / Pulling / Lifting / Carrying

Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes / odors

Physical ability to perform maintenance on equipment for an extended time with continual mounting and dismounting throughout the workday

Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition

This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours : 50 – 80 per week
