  • Clinical Shift Schedule : Mon Fri, 8a 5p (1-hour unpaid lunch)
  • On-Call Shift Schedule : Fri 5p Mon 7a (rotating weekends)
  • Call Type : Beeper
  • Call Ratio : Shared rotation with 2 Oncologists and 4 APPs
  • Call Response Time : 30 minutes (average expectation) COVERAGE DATES
  • Starting January 2026 (3 weeks per month or full-time preferred)

PATIENT INFORMATION

  • Patient Demographics : Adults, Geriatrics
  • Patient Volume / Census : 1820 patients daily in clinic
  • Admissions : As needed (hospitalist typically handles)
  • Rounding : Yes, during weekend call (1012 patients)
  • Phone Consults : Yes, during call
  • Case Mix : 65% Hematology / 35% Oncology

    • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Licenses : Active IN license or IMLC eligible
  • Board : BC / BE in Hematology and Oncology (must certify within 5 years of residency)
  • DEA : Active DEA Certification
  • Certifications : ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
  • Experience : Minimum 2 years in specialty
  • Vaccinations : Flu (required or exemption), COVID (not required)
  • Other Qualifications : Must complete order entry and timesheets via Vemsta platform

    • DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient hematology / oncology care
  • Participate in weekend call rotation and provide consults as needed
  • Manage clinic patients and coordinate care with APPs and hospitalists
  • Review and manage inpatient consults (typically within 2448 hours)
  • Collaborate with support staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Document all encounters accurately in Epic EMR
