Job Functions :

Responsible for maintenance activities as assigned, such as carpentry, electric, plumbing, materials handling, painting and works with volunteers regularly to coordinate and manage tent parking needs.

Education and Experience :

Knowledge and experience in mechanical systems, tools associated with trade and operating hand held power tools

Skills Requirements :

This position requires the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary framework Must be able to communicate effectively in English, orally as well as in writing. Must demonstrate a heart for the ministry of serving poor and homeless families. The position requires a degree of maturity, sensitivity to issues of faith, cross cultural and diversity issues, and the social skill to handle job-related matters in a professional and diplomatic manner.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to tolerate outdoor temperatures consistent with Florida climate and endure prolonged standing / walking / bending / stooping and stretching. Must be able to tolerate various temperatures consistent with outside seasonal changes and with refrigeration / freezer cold storage units. Must be able to work in areas with low or no lighting. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly. Must be able to calculate mathematical equations as needed for maintenance purposes. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

Other :

Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must pass required background pre-employment screening. Must adhere to the policies and procedures of the ministry; Must be able to work flexible schedules during the holiday season (October-December) and special events.
