Join our team and help make a difference! Overarching Role : Assist with Good Shepherd Services mission to become an anti-racist and multicultural organization. Job Responsibilities Co-facilitate JEDI workshops and content such as Introduction to Equity and other similar workshops Co-facilitate courageous conversations related to social and racial justice topics Co-designs, coordinates and supports anti-racism, equity and inclusion workshops Provide consultation to individuals and groups regarding cross-cultural interactions and conflicts. Provide support to affinity groups; coordinate quarterly meetings with affinity groups to ensure they align with the organization’s mission and that they are not duplicating efforts but rather supporting one another. Develops and regularly updates guides and resources for agency Provides the LEAD Council with project management support to ensure their successful completion of goals; attends LEAD meetings regularly Coordinate the logistics of the Anti-Racism and Equity Institute for internal and external participants. Participate in the NYS Equitable Economies Coalition (NYSEEC) meetings and provide support with projects Develops flyers and advertisements, and assists AD JEDI with various forms of publicity Co-creates an ARE e-newsletter and regular ARE agency updates Conducts JEDI research regularly to ensure alignment to best practices, to support ARE communications and workshop and other pertinent ARE and Diversity and Inclusion content. Supports data collection and synthesis projects Supports with the coordination and execution of theme month informational materials, celebrations and events Support AD JEDI with priority anti-racism and DEI projects, when needed Attend program sites periodically; work closely with program staff to ensure they have an anti-racist lens embedded into their work. Serve as a coach and facilitator in a consultative manner to help them progress towards becoming programs that have a fully embedded anti-racist and equity lens Other related tasks as needed Helpful Skills in the Role : Self-starter; self-driven and motivated by social justice and anti-racism work Facilitation skills relating to racial and social justice content Innovative, courageous, and willing to challenge -isms and white supremacy norms; Courage to surface anti-racist and anti-oppressive stances Approaches this work from an intersectional lens Excitement to continue learning and engage around anti-racism work; understanding that social justice work is a lifelong journey Awareness that anti-racism work is a forever journey of learning and unlearning isms A bridge builder who can work with people from various backgrounds and identities Experience with and / or knowledge of multiple anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework Actively engaged in ongoing learning in the field of anti-racism Preferred Qualifications Experience creating and executing anti-racism work in organizations; this includes relevant paid and unpaid / volunteer / community work. Consistent ongoing learning in the field of anti-racism work, both taking and delivering anti-racism trainings. Shows a value to cultural humility - a commitment to learning about themselves, their identities and cultural experiences, and those of their staff, participants and the communities they partner with.
