Dive Coach - Southwest Valley YMCA

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A DIVE COACH :

• Prepare for practices accordingly to meet the needs of all levels coached, adjust difficulty as needed.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with divers and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
• Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and refers to other available programs.
• Maintains records as required (i.e., attendance, meet entries, incident reports, etc.).
• Follows all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
• Organizes and puts away needed practice equipment. Reports damaged or needed equipment.
• Serves as a role model to participants and lives the vision and values of the YMCA movement.
• Create a mission-based environment which enables everyone to be engaged in the YMCA movement.
• Attends all staff meetings and in-service training; trains and supervises assistant coaches as assigned.
