This one-year Fellowship is a unique opportunity to work directly with a College Chief Diversity Officer in a dynamic urban institution.
The Office of Diversity and Compliance plays an important role in supporting the mission of the Hunter College in educating outstanding students and advancing impactful faculty research that will benefit current and future generations. The College’s motto “Mihi Cura Futuri” (The Care of the Future is Mine) requires that we maintain an academic environment where all members of the campus community feel welcomed and valued.
In furtherance of this institutional commitment, the Office for Diversity and Compliance works with other departments and constituents to create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming academic environment. Specifically, the Office for Diversity and Compliance is responsible for administering the CUNY and Campus Policies on Non-Discrimination, Sexual Misconduct Prevention, Workplace Violence Prevention, and implementing the requirements of federal, state and city Human Rights and Civil Rights laws.
Reporting to the Dean and Deputy in the Office for Diversity and Compliance, the Fellow supports the work of the Office. This includes assisting with investigations, scheduling, drafting legal documents, conducting research, assisting with affirmative action initiatives, working with and through faculty, a, professional and student groups on campus to conduct events, conferences, panel discussions, workshops and related activities to promote and enhance the campus experience for all campus community members.
With respect to investigation, complaints of discrimination, sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, workplace violence, gender-related violence including stalking and intimate partner violence involving undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty and staff at the College, the Fellow will provide :
QUALIFICATIONS
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited Law School and commitment of one year for the duration of the Fellowship.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Conducts research activities with the supervision and mentorship of a CUNY faculty member.
Performs research and assist faculty, staff, and students with their research.
Collaborates with internal and external researchers.
Seeks funding and writes grant applications, independently and in collaboration with their faculty mentor.
Adhere to relevant regulations and ethical conduct standards pertinent to the conduct of their research.
Performs statistical analysis and assures validity of data.
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with education and experience ($54,675-$65,946).
