Project Estimator - Pharmaceuticals - Ohio - 12-Month Contract
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Estimator to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Maryland, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for the API manufacturing campus project, covering all phases from conceptual design through final construction.
- Conduct comprehensive cost analysis, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontracts to ensure accurate budget allocations.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop realistic project schedules that align with budgetary constraints and milestones.
- Analyze and evaluate bids from contractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive and fair pricing.
- Identify potential cost risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project financial integrity.
- Prepare regular cost reports and updates for senior management, highlighting any variances from the budget and recommending corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of all cost-related activities, ensuring transparency and ease of audit.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, providing clarity on cost-related matters and responding to any queries promptly.
- Ensure all estimating practices comply with industry standards and regulations, particularly those specific to pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.
Qualifications :
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project estimating for large-scale capital projects, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.Demonstrable experience managing estimates for projects valued at $ million or more.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., AACE, PMP) are a plus.Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project, ProEst, or similar). Strong knowledge of cost control principles and methodologies.Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop accurate cost models.Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly to diverse audiences.High level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring precision in all estimates and reports.Willingness and ability to travel to Lebanon, Indiana once per quarter for on-site evaluations and meetings.If this role is of interest to you, please apply now!
