Intern, Community Development, South Bend, IN (Summer 2026)
Intern working as a member of the Community Development Team during the Summer 2026. Essential requirements include comfortable learning new software programs for collecting and reporting community development information, attention to detail for preparing information needed for internal and external reporting, organization of data and information needed for our Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) compliance and reporting, effective communication skills with Bank colleagues, regular and predictable attendance, and completion of all compliance training related to the position.
Internship basics include a 10-to-12-week summer duration desired, flexible start and end dates, a 40-hour anticipated work week, Monday through Friday, on-site in South Bend, IN, and a paid opportunity. Program activities include orientation kick-off and networking opportunities with other interns, colleagues, and senior management.

Experience / skills include a high school diploma / GED required, pursuing a bachelor's degree in business desired, but pursuit of urban planning and community development related degrees is acceptable. Pursuing a career in banking is also essential. Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Word) is essential, along with good organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple competing tasks and demands, the ability to meet deadlines, and good written and verbal communication skills.
Physical demands include sitting, standing, and walking; using hands and fingers to operate keyboard and other office equipment; reaching with hands and arms; talking or hearing; stooping or kneeling; and occasionally lifting and / or moving up to 10 pounds.
