Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
- A minimum of four (4) years of progressive successful fundraising experience in the area of corporate & foundation fundraising strategies or other relevant experience managing business relationships.
- Strong relationship-building, organizational, management and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Excellent writing skills including letters of intent, grant proposals, and other correspondence.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, persuasion and negotiating skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with university leaders and corporate & foundation executives.
- Energetic, goal-oriented, hands-on, creative, attentive to detail, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Incumbent must be willing to work extended hours as needed.
- Requirements could include evening meetings, special event attendance and / or travel.
- Demonstrated success in soliciting gifts from corporations and / or foundations.
- This position requires a high level of commitment and enthusiasm.
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree.Experience in higher education fundraising environment.Familiarity with Banner database and / or fundraising and development software.All Qualifications Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and / or experience deemed comparable and / or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered. Position Details Position Purpose Provides leadership in the creation and management of a coordinated, strategic fund development program to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate sector and charitable foundations that will result in the cultivation and solicitation of philanthropic support to advance the University’s programs and priorities. Manage a portfolio of 40-50 corporate and foundation partnerships. Work across division lines to build a strong culture of philanthropy. Reports to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations with a dotted line to the Dean of Engineering and Computer Science.
