POSITION SUMMARY
The Packaging Engineer will play a key role in supporting the technical delivery of packaging projects in collaboration with various brands. This role will contribute to the successful development and implementation of new and improved packaging solutions, ensuring solutions meet equity aesthetics, consumer acceptance, manufacturing capability, and quality requirements. This role will offer the opportunity to work on cross-functional teams, lead specific projects, and drive innovation in packaging design and processes.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Lead technical delivery of base business projects mutually with all the brands.
- Ensure defined needs for equity aesthetics, consumer acceptance, manufacturing capability and quality are met from the program brief through design, engineering, and commercialization.
- Participate in the conceptualization, initiation, development and implementation of new and improved packages and processes such as design generation, prototype development, engineering specifications, functionality testing, quality testing and technology transfer.
- Demonstrate effective collaboration and leadership within a cross-functional team environment with minimal supervision (internal & external customers, including Operations, Supply Chain, and Brand teams).
- Build a competitive advantage by identifying, evaluating, and championing technical advancements, design trends and innovations in packaging.
- Manage and execute multiple projects at various stages, with shifting priorities, and extremely tight timelines.
- Participate and lead brainstorming and information gathering as part of the resource planning process.
- Provide subject matter expertise in selected packaging technology platform(s) while maintaining a working knowledge of the packaging principles and operating systems required to support RealTruck’s business.
- Understand, interpret, and refine package testing procedures and standards to support the effective design, validation, and implementation of new packages and packaging technology.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required. Packaging Engineering BS preferred.3+ years of packaging related experience preferred.Packaging development and manufacturing experience required.Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Skilled in Microsoft Office.Skilled in CAD software.Skilled in ArtiosCAD or equivalent.Skilled in CAPE or equivalent palletization software.Ability to write, speak, and comprehend English.Ability to present to both internal and external customers.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Travel
Some domestic travel may be required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is subject to light work; Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and / or leg controls require exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.Physical Activities
