Who are we looking for?

GHD has an opportunity for a mid-level Environmental Engineer / Geologist / Scientist to work with our Contaminated Assessment Remediation (CAR) group as a CAR professional based in our Des Moines, Iowa office. If you are a self-motivated professional with excellent technical skills, federal / state / local environmental regulatory knowledge, and existing relationships with clients, prospects, and regulators then this is a great opportunity to explore!

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in :

Using knowledge of various engineering and scientific disciplines, may collect, synthesize, study, report, and recommend action based on data derived from measurements or observations of air, food, soil, water, and other sources. Work may include waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and project management services to our existing and future clients on a variety of projects.
• Prepare technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets.
• Data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation / comparison to environmental regulatory standards.
• Interact with internal and external clients, contractors and service providers.
• Depending on your role and experience, conduct or direct environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants of concern by following established procedures.
• Participate in a proactive safety culture of continuous improvement.
• Client engagement and stewardship.
• Complex problem solving as it relates to environmental remediation and economic decision making.
• Balancing the triangle of scope, schedule, and budget to produce the best results possible for our clients.
• Develop and maintain diverse professional networks spanning the globe and multitudes of disciplines.
• Engage in opportunities in a wide range of environmental and geographical settings.
