Job Description

GTRI's Cooperative Education ("co-op") program offers you extensive opportunities to participate in diverse scientific and technological endeavors, use state-of-the-art equipment and rapidly improve your technical and leadership skills. The program allows you to alternate three semesters of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school.

The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) is currently seeking a Co-op Student in the Test Engineering Division (TEN) for the Spring 2026 semester.

Test Engineering Division (TEN) provides Test and Evaluation (T&E) capability for Electronic Warfare (EW), Avionics, and Radar Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) test systems. These systems provide high fidelity simulation and stimulation of real-time Electro-Optical / Infrared (EO / IR), Radio Frequency (RF), and Avionics environments for testing EW, Avionics and Radar systems that are used to protect aircraft from ground and airborne threats.

This broad range of research will provide a solid foundation for the student as a future software engineer. The student will work under the guidance of GTRI researchers performing research in one of the following areas :

• Hardware-in-the-Loop test stations
• Simulating engagement environments to replicate field activities
• Automating test activities using budding technologies

The student researcher will perform one or more of the following activities :
