About the Job
The Department of Economics at the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota occasionally needs lecturers or teaching specialists to teach courses that cannot be staffed by regular faculty or graduate students. Openings of this kind sometimes occur for teaching evening courses as well as day courses. The courses include introductory or survey courses, as well as upper-division courses. Courses to be taught depend on the department’s teaching needs. These positions are temporary and part-time.
This does not constitute a posting for vacancies, but establishes a pool of applicants should opening occur during the 2025 / 26 academic year. Applications will be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis during the academic year. Appointments may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance.
Salary is determined by the number of course credits for the course to be taught.
Job Duties
Teach undergraduate classes as determined by the Department Chair and the Director of Undergraduate Studies. Oversee teaching assistants and course administration as needed. Provide service to the Department as appropriate.

Pay Range : $12,000 - $17,000 per course; depending on education / qualifications / experience.
