Summary

CHS is looking for a Hazmat Driver to join our team in McPherson, KS! This individual will be hauling fuel, diesel, ethanol, propane, and other products. This role will be a mix of local and regional routes, with drivers out overnight in the truck 2-3 nights / week on average. There could be times during busier seasons where this varies. The schedule we are looking to fill is either Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday- Saturday, morning start time.

This role is eligible for a $3,000 sign on bonus. $1500 will be paid after 30 days, and an additional $1500 after 1 year in the role.

Responsibilities

Ensure accurate and on time deliveries to our customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws. To include but not limited to pre-trip and post-trip reporting, proper load securement and hours of service.

Assist in the warehouse when not delivering product.

Work extended hours in-season to meet business demands.

Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions

Assist warehouse staff and perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement
• 2+ years of Class A driving experience
• Must meet minimum age requirement

Ability to read, write and communicate in English and understand highway traffic signs and signals

Additional Qualifications

Tanker and Air Brake endorsements

Must meet DOT and Company requirements

Ability to work additional hours and occasional Saturdays to meet business demands

Bulk liquid experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift / carry up to 80 lbs, walk, stand, sit, bend, and kneel

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage / salary requirements under local law.
