Overview

  • Salary : $72000-$78000

Advocates is seeking driven open-minded professionals to offer clinical support to incarcerated individuals at the Worcester County Jail and House of Correction. The Forensic Mental Health Clinician provides evaluations risk assessments crisis intervention and group and individual treatment in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical assessments including inmates placed on suicide watch and those inmates who submit sick call slips
  • Provide ongoing evaluation and psychological monitoring of all inmates on psychiatric medication
  • Screen inmates for possible mental health conditions.
  • Respond to crisis calls from jail staff and / or family members
  • Attend daily triage meetings
  • Maintain necessary documentation to include assessments watch forms medication verification sheets file notes and treatment plans
  • Assist with segregation restraint and Department of Correction evaluations.

    • Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in related counseling field and at least one year of relatable experience. License-eligibility (LICSWLMHC) required.
  • Must have working knowledge of current version of the American Psychiatric Associations Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must hold a valid drivers license and have access to an operational and insured vehicle.
  • Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
