Registered Nurse Job Details

Location : Rockingham, VA 22801 (Virginia nursing jobs)

Unit : Surgery Unit 1 – Telemetry

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

Contract Length : 13 weeks (option to extend up to 26 weeks)

Shift : 12-hour day shifts (AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Start Date : December 22, 2025

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,880 - $2,020

Telemetry RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state

At least 1 year of recent Telemetry or Medical-Surgical nursing experience

BLS certification required

Ability to independently interpret cardiac telemetry strips

Clinical experience with chest pain (CP), COPD, falls, orthostatic hypotension, post-op (lap cholecystectomy / appendectomy, joint surgeries), pneumonia, GI bleeds, and heparin drips

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care in a busy telemetry and surgical unit

Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry for assigned patients

Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 6

Administer medications, including heparin drips, and monitor for adverse reactions

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to create and implement individualized care plans

Document patient care and clinical interventions accurately

Educate patients and families about procedures, diagnoses, and discharge planning
