Position Summary
As a Geotechnical Project Manager you will spearhead small-to-large scale geotechnical construction projects from initial planning through delivery. You'll balance client engagement, safety, financial performance, and team coordination to ensure projects are successful, on time, and within budget—all while reinforcing the firm's reputation for exceptional service and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement & Business Development
- Build and nurture client relationships; identify new regional opportunities
- Lead bid efforts, proposals, and contract negotiations
- Project Planning & Coordination
- Create detailed project plans covering schedules, budgets, and resources
- Coordinate engineering designs, procurement, subcontractors, and field activities
- Execution & Risk Management
- Oversee field operations to ensure safe, timely, and quality execution
- Anticipate and mitigate risks, and effectively manage scope changes
- Financial & Quality Oversight
- Track project performance, approve budgets and forecasts, monitor profit margins
- Champion quality assurance and take corrective action when needed
- Safety Leadership
- Enforce stringent safety protocols and regulatory compliance
- Promote a proactive safety culture in alignment with company values
- Mentorship & Team Collaboration
- Lead project teams, mentor staff, and foster effective communication across all stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar fieldAt least 7–10 years of successful geotechnical or heavy civil construction project managementStrong track record managing complex construction projects with multidisciplinary teamsExcellent communication, negotiation, financial, and leadership skillsProficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office
