SCHEDULE :
Monday - Friday8 : 00am - 2 : 00pm
Up to 20 hours per week EXAMPLES OF DUTIES :
- Investigates and documents complaints related to environmental problems such as fumes, toxic chemicals, or safety issues.
- Collects hazardous waste and coordinates disposal with outside vendors.
- Respond to emergency calls related to chemical spills, fires, or other hazardous materials / conditions and takes appropriate action according to regulatory agency standards and guidelines.
- Coordinates, schedules, and attends meetings and facilitates follow-up. Serves as liaison with external agencies.
- Participates in building tours and coordinates / manages weekly / monthly compliance inspections.
- Keeps electronic records and hard copies of inspection reports.
- Provides technical information related to EHS issues.
- Monitors status of fire life safety systems and emergency equipment; reports deficiencies.
- Coordinates and facilitates all required tests / inspections and servicing of fire extinguishers, AED’s and emergency generators; and keeps records of same.
- Works with all campus constituents and security staff on fire life safety related issues.
- Conducts periodic inventory audits of departments that possess or produce hazardous materials to maintain audit level compliance.
REQUIREMENTS :
HAZWOPER CertificationProficiency in Microsoft and computer software programs
