Laundry Aide - 1st shift

Shift : 1st shift 6 : 30am-3 : 00pm with rotating weekends

Job Description

Attends all mandatory in-services by employee’s anniversary date

Carries out and follows all facility policies and procedures

Works under the direction of the Housekeeping Director and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team

Ability to adjust to changes with shift assignments to meet facility needs

Handles all laundry in accordance with sanitary guidelines

Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories. Lifts and carries loads of laundry to and from cleaning equipment

Washes, dries, folds and hangs all laundry neatly and properly

Identifies personal laundry with resident’s name and re-marks personal clothing items, if needed

Returns clean resident laundry to appropriate rooms and supply areas

Completes all daily assignments by the supervisor

Keeps work area clean and neat and performs cleaning assignments as scheduled

Works in cooperation with all other employees of the facility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for both residents and staff

Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions

Interacts with residents, family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff in a non-judgmental, supportive and calm manner

Addresses family satisfaction issues immediately by reporting them to the Supervisor in a professional manner

Uses facility equipment safely

Recognizes, removes and / or reports potential hazards

Disposes of waste properly

Understands and complies with all infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures

Addresses residents in a respectful manner and knocks prior to entering resident rooms

Maintains confidentiality and discusses confidential resident information in appropriate areas only

Able to stand and walk majority of shift

Bend, squat, crouch, reaching frequently. Pushing / pulling occasionally

Able to lift 35 pounds occasionally and over 50 pounds with assistance

High school diploma or GED
