Pay Information

$160 to $170 per hour

About The Position

  • A healthcare facility in Emporia, VA is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Primary Care Physician for locum coverage from December 2025 through mid-January 2026 . This outpatient role involves providing comprehensive primary care to patients across all age groups in a rural Southern Virginia community.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Provide high-quality primary care services to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Conduct routine exams, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
  • Perform minor office procedures such as suturing and incision & drainage.
  • Provide women’s health services such as pelvic exams and Pap smears (preferred).
  • Collaborate with virtual or on-site internal medicine physicians as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation using Epic EMR .
  • Ensure patient safety and follow established clinical protocols.

    Job Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible – REQUIRED
  • Active Virginia Medical License – REQUIRED at submission (no exceptions)
  • BLS Certification – REQUIRED
  • Minimum 1 year of outpatient experience preferred
  • Experience with multi-age patient populations (adult, pediatric, geriatric)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
