St. Pauls School seeks a Postal & Package Clerk. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the St. Pauls School mailroom which involves the collecting processing and delivering of incoming and outgoing mail. Receives and distributes various mail including U.S. mail interoffice mail and School mail. Establishes daily procedures and coordination of delivery services. Ensures safe and efficient delivery of all mail and packages. Occasionally required to process large mailings or distributions that require special planning and coordination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the employees supervisor.
- Staff the window in the Mailroom providing courteous and efficient services to students faculty and staff. The mailroom window should be open for customers during normal working hours.
- Operates a motor vehicle to transfer packages to and from Mailroom the U.S. Post Office and Shipping & Receiving. Also responsible for delivery of interoffice mail and packages.
- Sorts and groups U.S. and inter-departmental mail for delivery according to office locations.
- Separates inter-departmental mail from outgoing mail and sorts it for distribution.
- Sells stamps and processes mail through postal meter.
- Maintains daily record of postage charges to departments stamp sales postage sales and total charges for postage meters.
- Maintains records of insured and registered mail and all incoming packages by obtaining signatures from addresses upon delivery.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent.Valid NH drivers license and clean driving record.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to always maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service including periods of high mail / package volume and when interacting with students faculty and staff.Ability to read compose and comprehend simple and complex instructions short correspondences and memos in English.Ability to multi-task prioritize and manage time effectively.Basic computer skills including experience with standard office productivity software (word processing spreadsheet etc.).Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to frequently stand for periods of two hours walk in and out of buildings reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger handle or feel; and talk or hear.The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 75 pounds.Specific vision abilities required include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.Must be able to climb stairs and be capable of using visual display keyboard with continuous wrist movement on a keyboard.Work Environment :
Typical of a normal office some exposure to outdoor elements resulting from movement between physical locations.The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to moderate.Other :
Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 7 : 00AM until 4 : 00PM with a 30- minute lunch. Must be able to work overtime and weekend hours as needed.
Vacation approval may be limited during peak activity periods and during some School holiday periods.
