Nucor Rebar Fabrication is ready to build a world-class team as part of the launch of Nucors newest bar mill in Lexington NC. Our fabrication shop will feature state-of-the-art machinery in a 100000-square foot facility nestled in the beautiful scenery of Lexington NC. Located just 20 miles from the vibrant hub of Winston-Salem Lexington offers abundant recreational opportunities including fishing at High Rock Lake hiking and of course BBQ! Purpose :
The Automation Engineer is responsible for collaborating with Maintenance and Production teams to maximize safety and optimize Nucor Rebar Fabrication processes.
Responsibilities :
Training team members across locations to support consistent performance and knowledge sharing.
Using engineering principles algorithms and techniques to trouble shoot and improve both the process and equipment.
Developing and implementing improvement plans involving both hardware and software systems.
Providing support outside of normal business hours as needed including flexible scheduling for unscheduled and scheduled overtime weekends and holidays.
Assisting with regional maintenance initiatives and supporting cross-site collaboration.
Adapting to evolving responsibilities as assigned by the area Supervisor / Manager in response to operational needs.
Traveling regularly to other regional NRF locations to identify improvement opportunities resolve issues and share best practices.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
