About The Position
A facility in Portsmouth, NH is seeking an experienced Locums Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide on-site trauma coverage, assist in critical care rounds, and support surgical teams as needed. This role includes both weekday and weekend shifts with a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour schedules. First-assist experience is preferred but not required.

- Monthly Requirements : Up to 8–9 days of on-site trauma coverage / backup coverage
- Shift Options :
7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM
7 : 00 AM – 3 : 00 PMCoverage Days : Monday–Friday with weekend coverage as neededSetting : Trauma APP coverage for inpatient roundingResponsibilities
Provide trauma surgery support and inpatient roundingAssist in first-assist duties when applicablePerform critical care rounding on trauma patientsCollaborate with trauma surgeons, hospitalists, and the multidisciplinary teamManage daily patient evaluations, documentation, orders, and care planningRespond to trauma consults as neededPatient Volume
Average Daily Census : ~10 patientsRequirements
NH State Licensed : PA or APRNBoard Certified or Board EligibleATLS and ACLS certifications requiredExperience in trauma, acute care surgery, or critical care strongly preferredAbility to work independently within scope while collaborating with attending physiciansFamiliarity with trauma protocols and inpatient hospital workflowsPortsmouth is a coastal New England city known for its historic charm, waterfront views, and vibrant downtown.
