Position Summary
As an 811 Locate Ticket Screener , you are the gatekeeper of safe excavation practices. Your role is vital in reviewing and screening incoming utility locate requests submitted via the 811 system, ensuring every ticket is accurate, prioritized correctly, and routed efficiently. With a mix of remote and office work, you'll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to prevent utility damages and keep projects running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Review incoming 811 tickets for accuracy, completeness, and asset relevance
Prioritize and route tickets to appropriate teams
Cross-reference ticket locations using GIS mapping systems and asset databases
Communicate with contractors, locators, and internal teams for clarification
Identify and escalate potential conflicts or risks to prevent damage
Maintain detailed records of ticket activities and communications
Update ticket tracking systems and documentation regularly
Support company-wide damage prevention initiatives and training
Collaborate with construction and network teams to ensure timely ticket resolution
Perform related administrative and reporting tasks
Education & Certifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Technical training or coursework in GIS, telecommunications, or utility locating preferred
Experience Requirements
1–2 years in utility locating, construction, telecommunications, or related fields
Familiarity with the 811 system and damage prevention processes preferred
Experience working in high-volume call center or ticketing environments
