This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

Blue Origin is self-funding rapid development of multiple in-space flight systems - over a range of sizes, propellant types, and technical challenge.

This position resides within the Avionics & Control Products organization, in the Engines Business Unit. As the Avionics Test Equipment Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team that designs, builds, and maintains ground and test equipment for rocket engine avionics systems. The equipment you support has a variety of use cases including factory automation, engine acceptance testing, board and LRU checkout, hardware qualification, and software / firmware functional testing.

Under your leadership, your team will be responsible for the full lifecycle of designing, delivering, and maintaining these systems from initial use casing and requirements solicitation through final delivery and checkout, and everything in-between.

The successful candidate is an engineering leader, systems-thinker, and recognized problem solver with expertise in at least one of : electrical engineering, software engineering, or systems integration, and a good understanding of tangential disciplines (control theory, mechanical engineering, instrumentation, etc.). You understand that designing effective and effective test solutions is just as important as designing flight hardware. You have an innate ability to drive rapid high-quality solutions in close collaboration with stakeholders.

Position requires up to 25% travel to rocket engine test sites.

Responsibilities :

• Lead a team of multi-disciplinary engineers and technicians designing, delivering, and maintaining ground and test equipment
• Define equipment requirements, architectures, and interfaces
• Decompose conceptual systems into physical product designs, prioritizing low-cost COTS solutions
• Integrate and test avionics hardware, software, instrumentation, and harnessing onto test facilities and rocket engines
• Validate and verify that equipment is meeting customer expectations and requirements
• Triage remotely networked systems

Required for certain Job Profiles : Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
