Role Overview

Planet is seeking an experienced RF and Microwave Engineer to develop next‑ onboard links, ground radios, and antenna systems that push the frontiers of satellite communications. This is a full‑time hybrid role requiring presence in our San Francisco office three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design RF / MW hardware transceivers and circuits, including simulation, instrumentation, test, and characterization.
• Conduct EMI / RFI testing and mitigation.
• Design, simulate, and test antennas (ADS, HFSS).
• Validate and verify radios and antennas pre‑shipment and validate radio performance on orbit after satellite launch.
• Support the bring‑up, integration, and test of RF / MW / Optical communications systems.

San Francisco salary range : $114,200 – $142,700 USD.
