American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med / Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring strong telemetry skills and prior travel experience.

Job Details

  • Hospital Med / Surg Telemetry unit environment,
  • Cares for acute medical-surgical and telemetry patient population,
  • Bedside responsibilities include NG tube insertion, peripheral IV insertion, and telemetry strip interpretation,
  • 12-hour night shifts with scheduling flexibility based on unit needs,
  • Required to work every other weekend or as needed for unit coverage,
  • Must work 2 out of 4 major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Day,
  • Utilizes Epic EMR, with experience required within the last 2 years,

Job Requirements

  • Active VT or compact RN license required,
  • Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certification are required (NIHSS must be completed prior to start),
  • Telemetry certification preferred,
  • Minimum 5 years of med / surg tele experience or 3 years of tele experience required,
  • Must have completed 2 prior travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities or have experience at a UVMHN acute care facility,
  • Prior travel nursing experience is required,
  • Epic experience within the past 2 years is nonnegotiable,
  • Reliable personal transportation is required due to lack of public transit, and vehicles must be equipped appropriately for winter if assignment falls November-April,

    • Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include complex bedside procedures and telemetry strip interpretation,
  • Orientation sessions are held bi-weekly on Mondays,
  • No block scheduling options are available,
  • Candidates must provide complete work history details,
  • Expect a collaborative team environment in an acute care setting,
  • All candidates must respond promptly to communications regarding role acknowledgement,
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles are classified as local per facility guidelines,
