We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team client's team in Stuart, Florida. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial processes. Responsibilities :
- Supervise the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks while maintaining compliance with organizational policies.
- Review and assist with key departmental functions, including invoice issuance, bank reconciliations, cash receipt postings, and payroll oversight.
- Collaborate with the corporate tax department to manage tax-related analyses, audits, and reporting requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and review of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Develop and implement internal controls, conducting regular audits to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Drive process improvements by standardizing workflows and creating detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in the development and preparation of the Annual Operating Plan.
- Provide support to both internal and external auditors as needed.
- Offer guidance and career development opportunities to finance staff.
- Coordinate and document international credit instruments such as letters of credit, drafts, and wire transfers, and provide backup for international bid and performance bond preparation.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong operational knowledge of accounting principles and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial and accounting systems, with expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
- Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering team collaboration and driving results.
- Preferred qualifications include CPA certification or progress toward CPA certification.
- Experience with DCAA compliance and financial statement audits is a plus.
