Travel Nurse Job Details

Assignment Type : Travel nursing job
Location : Odessa, Texas 79761 (West Texas)
Start Date : September 16, 2025
End Date : December 16, 2025
Duration : 13-week contract
Shift : 4x10-hour day shifts (06 : 30 - 17 : 00), Tuesday to Friday
Call : 1 weekday and 1 weekend per month
Orientation : 3-4 days (24 hours)
Weekly Hours : 40
Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2,070 - $2,220
Charting System : Cerner (preferred experience)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)

Minimum 1 year recent Operating Room RN experience

Previous travel nursing experience required

Community hospital and LTAC experience required

Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred

Current certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS

Experience with Cerner charting system preferred

Robotic XI, orthopedic, spine / neuro, general / gyn, ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, urology, vascular, and trauma case experience strongly preferred

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions allowed)

COVID-19 vaccine not required

Must submit resume and required documentation by deadline

Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

Circulate and / or scrub for a diverse range of surgical procedures : robotic, orthopedic, spine / neuro, general, gynecological, ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, urology, vascular, and trauma cases

Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate patient care for all age groups (neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics)

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Demonstrate proficiency with specialized surgical equipment, including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System

Participate in call rotation (1 weekday and 1 weekend per month)

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR

Comply with hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols

Support and mentor new staff during orientation as needed
