Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation and review of U.S. federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns
Manage quarterly and annual tax provision processes in compliance with ASC 740, including deferred tax assets / liabilities and uncertain tax positions.
Contribute to the preparation of tax disclosures for financial statements
Handle the preparation of quarterly corporate estimated tax calculations and payments
Assist with the partnership tax function including partnership tax returns, quarterly partnership estimated taxable income calculations & partner distribution process.
Oversee tax notices and audits as well as manage relationships with federal and state tax authorities
Identify, evaluate, and document tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position and mitigate risks.
Monitor and interpret evolving tax legislation and regulations, providing guidance on their potential impact.
Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and external advisors on transactions, restructurings, and M&A due diligence.
Ensure SOX compliance and maintain appropriate internal controls related to tax processes.
Mentor and develop junior tax staff, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
CPA designation required. JD / LLM in Taxation is a plus
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's in Taxation preferred.
8–10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in a combination of Big Four / public accounting and in-house corporate tax departments.
Deep knowledge of U.S. corporate tax law, ASC 740, and state / local tax rules; experience with partnership taxation, a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including drafting technical memos.
Proficiency with tax software such as OneSource, CCH, or similar.
Pay Information
This position is exempt and is paid according to the laws of the State of New York or Florida. The pay range for this position is $150,000-$200,000 USD per year. We are required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Corient seeks to make reasonable accommodations that enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties when possible.
This position may require the ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.

Must be 18 years of age or older.
