About the Role

The Head of Quantitative Research Talent Development will be responsible for leading the firm's effort to strengthen its quantitative research capabilities and build a sustainable talent pipeline of quant researchers, data scientists and model-builders. You'll partner with trading teams, research groups and senior leadership to identify gaps in quantitative skill-sets and design, develop and launch structured training programs covering data analysis, machine learning, statistical modelling, and systematic strategy development. You will mentor and coach junior and mid-level professionals, promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation, and work cross-functionally with HR, the research function and portfolio management to ensure alignment between talent development initiatives and business goals. In addition, you will monitor training outcomes, track metrics of talent progression, model adoption and research productivity, and continuously refine the capability-building roadmap to support the firm's quantitative edge. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantitative research, data science or systematic trading, ideally at a leading hedge fund, proprietary trading firm or asset manager, and possess experience designing and running training or development programs for technical talent. You should bring advanced quantitative skills (e.g., machine learning, statistical modelling, programming), excellent mentoring and leadership abilities, and the capability to work effectively across research, trading and business management teams. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to influence senior stakeholders and align talent development to strategic business priorities. Prior experience in developing junior quantitative talent in a high-performance environment is highly desirable.
