Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Mechanisms Engineer to join Midland, TX -based pioneering aerospace and telecom company developing the first satellite-based cellular broadband network designed to deliver high-speed mobile connectivity directly to standard smartphones. This position is fully onsite and requires up to a Secret clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities of the Mechanisms Engineer :

  • Lead and perform testing activities, including the development of test requirements, procedures, materials, and tooling for vibration, shock, thermal vacuum (TVAC), and assembly processes.
  • Drive iterative mechanism design improvements based on test and production environment findings.
  • Conduct design, analysis, and system trade studies to optimize Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) processes at both system and spacecraft levels, focusing on workflow efficiency, integration ease, and production speed.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to enhance manufacturability, reduce costs, and streamline production layouts by applying expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Provide detailed product and process reports through data collection, analysis, and feedback from operators and technicians.
  • Apply sound engineering principles to execute design and analysis tasks in compliance with business standards, procedures, and program requirements.
  • Investigate anomalies and failures, perform root-cause analyses, and implement effective resolutions.
  • Deliver ongoing manufacturing engineering support to production teams.

Qualifications of the Mechanisms Engineer :

  • 3+ years in manufacturing (preferably aerospace industry experience)
  • Hands-on experience in Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing)
  • Compensation for the Mechanisms Engineer :

  • Salary : $85,000-100,000 / year
  • flexible based on experience
