Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc) is seeking an Interim Maternal Child Health Clinical Nurse Specialist for a W2 Contract position based in San Francisco, CA.
Schedule : Full time, 5 8's Days
Assignment Duration : 13 Weeks with high likelihood of extending
Compensation :
Daily Rate : This position offers an daily rate between $545 to $560 per day which equates to $2,725 to $2,800 per week (based on a 40-hour workweek).
Per Diems : Lodging : $259 per day, Meals & Incidentals : $92 per day and Auto Stipend : $25 per day. Per diems and Auto Stipend are paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $2,632 per week.
Total Weekly Compensation (Daily Rate based on a 40-hour work week + Per Diems) : Between $5,357 to $5,432 per week

Summary :
Key clinical leader who partners with operational management to ensure nursing teams deliver safe, high-quality, and effective patient care. In the Maternal Child Health specialty, this role drives clinical excellence by developing and implementing evidence-based standards of care, mentoring staff, and leading initiatives to improve patient outcomes. The specialist collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, evaluates clinical practices for quality and compliance, and supports education programs to strengthen staff competencies and foster continuous improvement.
Essential Functions :
Develops competency criteria and outcome measures for specialty area staff.
Assists with interviewing, evaluating, and coaching staff; supports action plans for professional development and recommends corrective actions when necessary.
Conducts cost-benefit analyses for new clinical technologies and makes implementation / budget recommendations.
Provides coaching, counseling, and mentorship to nursing staff and other health care providers.
Leads development and implementation of standards of practice, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
Collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to drive improvements in nursing practice, care programs, and clinical innovation.
Evaluates clinical practice to ensure compliance with professional, community, and regulatory standards.
Manages care for high-risk patients in specialty area to achieve safe, cost-effective outcomes.
Rounds with interdisciplinary teams and conducts community needs assessments as needed.
Reviews and updates policies and procedures based on evidence and systematic reviews.
Facilitates multidisciplinary collaboration to address patient and family needs.
Participates in outcomes research and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Identifies clinical quality indicators and implements strategies to improve performance.
Engages in specialty-specific professional organizations and conferences.
Develops and evaluates education programs for patients, families, and nursing staff.
Leads and manages multidisciplinary project teams, applying operations management principles to achieve successful outcomes.
Addresses and resolves patient or family concerns related to nursing care.
Oversees policies and operations to align with organizational, federal, state, and local standards for quality, safety, and utilization.
Qualifications :
Clinical Master's degree in Nursing, in area of specialization required.
Graduate of accredited school of nursing required.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in area of specialty required.
Clinical Nurse Specialist Certificate (California) required.
Current California RN license required.
