Description :
Center for Hope and Safety, located in Bergen County NJ, is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting victims of domestic violence and their children. We believe every person has the right to be safe, empowered and free from violence. We're currently seeking compassionate individuals to join our team at our residential facility.
In this role, you'll have overall responsibility to participate in shelter operations relating to residents’ daily activities and general operational logistics.
Responsibilities :
- Answer and screen hotline calls and / or refer callers to appropriate resources. Track all incoming calls on telephone log.
- Assist in enforcing house rules and chore completion via checklists completion, fire drills, etc.
- Maintain new client forms & intake files.
- Record house count in Daily Log at the beginning of each shift.
- Update house count on internal shared drive as directed by supervisor.
- Record appropriate material in the Daily Log, such as progress notes, shift reports / summaries and other forms as needed.
Requirements :
HS Diploma required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services a plusPrior experience working with DV clients preferredDriver's license in good standing requiredAbility to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the organization necessaryStrong organizational, communication and computer (Microsoft and Google Suite) skills requiredAbility to lift a minimum of 35 pounds necessaryAbility to go up and down stairs essential
