Job Summary :
Field Tech- Equipment Operator is responsible for operating sweepers, floors scrubbers, pressure washers, industrial vacuums among other equipment as required to complete the job efficiently.
Responsibilities
This role will be active in the field responsible for the performance of tasks associated with hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation, equipment cleaning and handling of hazardous materials.
This is a physically intensive position that may require up travel- some job highlights include
Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all timePerforms work in enclosed (confined) spaces;Performs work using high pressure water blasting equipment to clean heavy industrial equipment (pipes, boilers, tanks, heat exchangers, bundles, etc.);Participate in spill response on customer's site as neededAttend all compliance and safety update meetingsMust be able to carry up to 40lbs using proper OSHA lifting proceduresLoad and unload equipment from vehicles and transport it accordinglyMust be able to safely drive and maneuver heavy equipmentMonitor equipment performance and adjust according as required to finish the taskTrack the Preventative Maintenance schedule for the equipment and notify supervisors of any abnormalities or due dates.Report equipment problems with detail information, such as but not limited to, where and when machinery was last usedClean equipment after each used and dispose of any collected scrap and / or waste.Perform minor repairs to equipment as needed.Able to remain focused, concentrated and aware of their surroundings despite multiple distractions.Able to critically thing and work under pressure and ensuring Health and safety standards are meetAble to meet strict deadlines and schedulesFlexible and adaptable to work conditions varying by site, schedules changes and weather conditions.Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions throughout the day;Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights.Other Duties as assignedQualifications :
MUST HAVE DRIVER LICENSE !!
EDUCATION : High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE : One year experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules / signs, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
Knowledge of Heavy Equipment safety protocols and procedures
Hand, Eye coordination; Often Techs must be able to use all the controls on equipment
Must be able to operate heavy machinery
Ability to remain stationary in the seat or operating area of the equipment for prolonged periods
Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with equipment
Strong oral communication skills to interact with other workers on the jobsite
Basic writing skills to accurately complete reports and other paperwork
Good noncommercial drivers license history to indicate a habit of safe driving
Ability to obtain Forklift Certification
Ability to multitask
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Ability to work weekends
