Travel Nurse Job Details

Location : Aurora, Colorado 80045 (Denver metro area)

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : March 2, 2026

Duration : 13-week contract

Shifts : 3x12-hour rotating shifts (days : 07 : 00–19 : 30; nights : 19 : 00–07 : 30)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Unit : Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU), 24 beds

Charting System : Epic EMR

Scrub Color : Navy

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2040 - $2100

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU, CTICU, or critical care nursing experience

Active Colorado RN license or Compact State RN license

Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications

NIHSS certification preferred

Experience with Epic charting preferred

Trauma Level II hospital experience required

Ability to float to similar critical care units as needed

Previous charge nurse experience preferred

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a 24-bed CTICU

Manage post-operative patients following open-heart surgery, ventricular assist device placement, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, and other advanced procedures

Administer and titrate vasoactive medications, ensuring complete cardiopulmonary support

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, arterial blood gases, and hemodynamic parameters

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver holistic patient care and achieve optimal outcomes

Float to other critical care units as required by facility needs

Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Participate in ongoing education and provide support to patients and families
