Director of Field Engineering – nRF Cloud

About the job

As the Director of Field Engineering at nRF Cloud, you will serve as the technical bridge between our product, customers, and go-to-market (GTM) teams. You will combine deep technical expertise with strategic business acumen to help shape how nRF Cloud’s technology is adopted, deployed, and scaled in the field.

This role is both strategic and hands-on : you will guide product direction through customer insights, act as a trusted technical advisor to our clients, and champion Nordic’s vision for Device Lifecycle Management within the broader industry.

Key responsibilities

• Technical Leadership : Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and industry trends, providing thought leadership and technical direction across customer and internal engagements.
• Technical Evangelism : Represent Memfault at conferences, industry events, and customer meetings to advocate for Device Lifecycle Mangement best practices.
• Solution Design : Partner with customers and prospects to understand their requirements, identify opportunities, and design Memfault solutions that drive measurable impact.
• Product Strategy : Pair feedback from the field with your experience and intuition to influence the product direction and the strategy of the business.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to ensure technical alignment and maximize customer outcomes relative to effort.
• Engineering Management : Manage a team of field engineers across multiple geographies. Coach, advise, and support team members to help them achieve their full potential.
