Rodmill Process Engineer

Position Overview

The Rod Mill Process Engineer ensures the proper application of engineering practices, procedures, and criteria while making certain the project goals of cost, quality, and timeliness are met. The Rod Mill Process Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing new processes as well as improving current existing ones for both the Rod Mill and Recycling. The Rod Mill Process Engineer coordinates the flow of information between maintenance and operations team to develop accurate proposal documentation, project timelines, and implementation.

Essential Job Functions

• Verify all finished goods are compliant with internal quality standards
• Identify manufacturing deficiencies and determine root causes
• Oversee and track corrective action processes
• Perform failure testing on defective products & review on-going production data
• Proactively identify and initiate opportunities to improve product and packaging performance, reduce cost, increase material utilization, integrate new products / processes into production, and reduce variation.
• Implement necessary changes and update all internal documentation.
• Collect, review, and present equipment reliability results and performance data to determine optimal equipment set-up to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
• Working with the operational teams on providing training, writing appropriate standard operating procedures, as well as maintenance training plans & parts.
• Become knowledgeable in Plant operation procedures in order to distinguish areas for development
• Research and develop new and experimental processes to encourage innovation
• Actively continue personal development / improvement initiatives that align with business objectives and job functions to provide increased contributions.
